Approval of Building Plans

Pursuant to the Airpark’s CCR’s, all building plans must be approved by the board prior to commencement of construction.

The approval process begins with the submission of three (3) complete paper copies of your building plans to the board. A digital file of a full copy of the plans may alternatively be submitted via email to the board. Building plans are defined as what would be required for a contractor to build your house and must include legible dimensions, materials called out for items such as roof sheathing, subfloor sheathing, stud size and spacing, wall sheathing, foundation depth, siding materials, roof materials, masonry, trim, colors of all materials, driveway location and composition, and a site plan that depicts the location of all planned buildings, the lot elevations, and how it will affect drainage and runoff. All building requirements can be found in the CCR’s (the Declaration of Covenants Conditions Restrictions on file with Lincoln County and also available on the Airpark website). Prior construction that is not in compliance does not exempt future construction from compliance with the CCR’s. All buildings must be approved before construction begins.

From §9.1.1: New Construction/Time for Completion. Any buildings erected on the Lot shall be on-site new construction with new quality materials. No Owner of a Lot shall erect or place any mobile homes, factory constructed or other modular residential buildings on a Lot. Trailers shall not be used as a permanent residence during construction. Once construction of a structure is commenced on a Lot, construction of that structure shall be completed within twenty-four (24) months of commencement, or as otherwise governed by the Town of Afton or Lincoln County, Wyoming.

IF YOU WANT TO START CONSTRUCTION IN MAY, YOU LIKELY NEED TO SECURE A CONTRACTOR IN OCTOBER AND HAVE PLANS SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD IN JANUARY, IN ORDER TO HAVE SUFFICIENT TIME FOR PLAN APPROVAL, ORDERING OF MATERIALS AND SCHEDULING OF THE WORK.
